Netball Coaching (seasonal event)

Location:Shaftesbury Sports Centre

A netball session taken by a qualified and professional coach. Sessions will consist of skills, techniques and games.

For various ages, see below;

These run from 11th August to 1st September:

Ages 7-10 years, Wednesdays 3-4pm
Ages 10-13 years, Wednesdays 4-5pm

This runs from 29th July to 1st September:

Ages 14+ (adults welcome), Thursdays 8-10pm

(Please note children ages 7-8 need to be accompanied by an adult)

Standard price for 1 hour sessions is £2.00 and 2 hour session is £3.00

Trinity Street Dance (seasonal event)

Location:Shaftesbury Sports Centre

A dance class taken by the famous Trinity dance group. The class will teach skills which will then be put into a routine.

For ages 5+(adults to accompany children 5-8 years)and lasting 2 hours

Tuesdays 1pm-3pm and Thursdays 3.30pm-5.30pm.

Standard price is £3.00

Active Travel Challenge (Misc)

Join the Active Travel Challenge! All yuo need to do is walk, cycle or jog for 10 mins or more and you and your organisation can win prizes!!

Football Tournament (seasonal event)

Location:Shaftesbury Sports Centre

A football tournament hosted for all ages and abilities ensuring that you have fun this summer.

Our Family tournament starts 26th July, teams should consist of 2 adults (16+) and 3 children aged 7-10 years.

Our Juniour tournament starts 2nd August, teams should consist of 5 children aged 10-14 years.

Both tournaments have a £5 entry fee and a trophy will be provided to the winning team.

Please note teams must be available for the whole week to allow fixtures to be arranged however it may not last this duration.

Des Pardes Indo British Exchange Exhibition 2010 (Exhibition)

Theatre Kittens Classes for 2-4 year olds (Misc)

Location:Mickleover, Derby

Time:10:00:00 to 11:30:00

Theatre Kittens classes are designed for pre-school children aged 2 – 4 years.

Early participation in drama and the performing arts develops imagination, creativity, confidence and communication skills.

The classes are 45 minutes long and there is also the opportunity afterwards for parents to relax over a coffee (refreshments included.) The classes involve a variety of skills, including singing songs, movement and rhythm, imagination building, playing with instruments, dressing up and story-telling through drama.

Theatre Kittens classes are just £4 each.

Themes each week have already included: ‘Everybody Wants To Be A Cat’, ‘Transport’, ‘All About Me’ and ‘Under the Sea.’

The Marlowe Players production of Noël Coward's "Hay Fever" (Theatre)

The Marlowe Players are in the final stages of rehearsals for their production of “Hay Fever”, Noël Coward’s sophisticated comedy of bad manners which sparkles with Noël Coward’s unparalleled wit and biting satire.
Once adored by the London stage, Judith Bliss has retired to live gracefully in the country with her husband David and children Sorel and Simon. They have each invited a guest for the weekend but unfortunately without telling the others. Embarrassing situations and misunderstandings abound and the unsuspecting guests soon become embroiled in the eccentric behaviour and romantic intrigues of the dysfunctional Bliss family.
The Marlowe Players production of “Hay Fever” is being directed by Felicity Freeman and it will be performed at Darley Abbey Village Hall, Derby from Tues 27th until Sat 31st July. Performances begin at 7.30pm and all tickets are priced at £5.00 obtainable from the Marlowe Player’s Box Office Tel. 07961 607372.
